'The Hairy Bikers' Bakeation' sees Si and Dave doing what they love best - a gastronomic road trip, uncovering the best baking on offer across Europe, from Norway, the Low Countries (The Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg), Germany, Eastern Europe (Slovakia, Hungary and Romania), Austria, Italy and France to Spain.

Si and Dave said, “In some ways we're going back to our roots. We made four episodes and a Christmas special of The Hairy Bakers at home in Britain but we felt we had some unfinished business as the more we discovered about baking bread, cakes, pastries and pies, the more we knew we still had so much baking to explore. We felt it was time to hook up our panniers and get back in the saddle to discover the very best baking Europe has to offer. We ate and rode our way from Oslo to Venice, Lyon to Santiago de Compostela. We met up with loved ones and old chums and partied until we were purple. Highlights included feasting with Dave's in-laws in Transylvania and with Si's sister in the lively village of Figline Valdarno south of Florence. It's one holiday where there's something for everyone and everyone is welcome to come along. Biking, feasting and baking, be it sweet or savoury, we rejoiced in cooking the most glorious local dishes. The Hairy Bikers' Bakeation is a big bite out of the cultural loaf of European baking.”

The Hairy Bikers: Bakeation starts on Tuesday 13th March, 8pm on BBC 2.
